COUNSEL PITMAN: Mr. Chairman, that is the most outrageous statement I’ve ever heard, that this board will be chastised, by whom we don’t know, if it makes a decision in this case that’s adverse to Mr. Bendixen. I’ve never heard such testimony particularly from a planner speculating on what - - you mean there would be an editorial or some other statement? That’s not for the proffers of the board.
CHAIRMAN COLANDREA: I don’t have problems with cross examination, but I do have problems with a comment such as the board will be chastised. It’s something that would happen, but I think it’s unfair to make a statement here.
DAVE MAKKAR: Chairman Colandrea never had any problem when in 2000 counsel Bruce Pitman told him, "GET RID OF YOUR CRITICAL SLOPE PARAGRAPH JUST GET RID OF IT, YOU DON'T NEED IT. THERE IS A CLEAR PURPOSE FOR CRITICAL SLOPE AREAS AS I UNDERSTAND IT. HOW CAN YOU PERMIT 50-55% STRUCTURES TO BE BUILT IN CRITICAL SLOPE AREAS? THIS WILL BE CLEAR VIOLATION OF CRITICAL SLOPE AREAS ORDINANCE." WHILE OPPOSING PINNACLE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF RESIDENTS OF SPRINGFIELD.
